It snowed yesterday in the Seattle area. It was nice watching the snowflakes fall and afterwards I had the first snowball fight of my life. Then I got in my car, turned on the heat and drove a few blocks to the video store. By the time I got out of the store there was a crack almost a foot long on the driver's side of the windshield.

Crap. Crap. Crap.

Yell at the dealer you bought the car from. This has *got* to be covered under warranty ... snow happens in this continent, and cars are supposed to be able to deal with it.

This summer, my windshield on my car cracked cause of the heat and my insurance covered past the deductable. Watch out for who fixes it though. The Lexus dealership in KC tried to put aftermarket glass on mine.

I gotta agree with Mike here. That's a defective windscreen. Hell, I regularly pour near boiling water over my frozen Pug (used to do it on my VeeDubs also) windscreen without ill effect.

Have a good rant at whoever sold you it.

Good luck (and thanks for the Bandit - Love it).

I lived in ice cold for 28 years and I NEVER got a crack from turning on the heat when the outside of the car is frozen. So your screen must be defective.
