>FIXED: If executing/downloading ActiveX controls is disabled, warning message(s) no longer displayed about sites with ActiveX controls.

However, if it was disabled in the previous version, the new version crashes on startup with Method not found: Void IEControl.HtmlControl.set_SilentModeEnabled(Boolean).

(I re-installed the old version, set the option to allow ActiveX controls, re-installed 112 and it started up OK)

(I'd post this on the forum except that it won't let me log in, for some reason)

The 'Object not set to an instance' issue is a bug in the Visual Studio.NET MSI uninstaller which occurs if an error while uninstalling RSS Bandit. The best thing I've seen that works is removing all RSS Bandit install data from your machine using the following advice from Torsten -

"After a non-successfull install it (MSI) should apply a rollback of all actions. But don't know, maybe it was not really clean. So lookup a folder in your Windows installation folder named Installer (my machine path is "C:\WINDOWS\Installer"). Look for any file there that has a date as you installed Bandit. There are *.msi, *.msp files as long as folders with names looking like GUID's. All files/folder referring to Bandit should be deleted.
Next, Start (via Run...) regedit.exe and select/open the hive
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
there search for the string "RssBandit". If you find a node named {FA963C35-94FB-41F1-BEC8-E7C5AD3922A0} or similar, delete it. If you find more nodes like this, delete them also (maybe older versions).
Delete now the path mentioned above (C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\AppData\RssBandit). If you want, keep the feedlist.xml and maybe other files like flagitems.xml, replyitems.xml etc. in a separate folder. You can copy them later back over."

Thanks for the help. However, I was able to successfully install when I selected to install for only my profile and not "Everyone" in the MSI prompts. Not sure why this worked...?

The MissingMethodException crash on startup occured if you upgraded from a beta release to the original installer for v1.2.0.112. I've refreshed the installer so if you download it again this problem should no longer show up.

Thanks for using RSS Bandit.

Forgot to mention improved keyboard support for english versions. ;)

This is pretty cool. My only suggestion would be some forced auto-updating of the remote storage. Update on shutdown and on some regular interval while Rssbandit is running so I don't have to remember to click upload before I go home in the evening. :-)

Love RSSBandit and especially the features in the new release. I do recieve an error when trying to use the FTP upload feeds function. I get an error that says the feedlist.xml file is missing from the \Application Data\RssBandit\ folder. Any ideas?

PS. Sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this.

Installed the new version, but as with version .90, the option to use IE's proxy server settings do not work. Furthermore, even when I manually put in a proxy configuration, some of the RSS feeds that were working in the older version (with a manual proxy setting) now do not download, and get proxy authentication error message. Please let me know what additional info I can provide.

I too am having trouble with the proxy settings. None of them work other than manually setting them, but then, for some reason half the feeds don't download. Please, any ideas? Or, how can I revert back to version 1.2.0.90?

Thanks
Robert

We don't support using proxy configuration scripts so if you IE proxy settings depend on those then RSS Bandit won't pick them up. There also is an issue with the fact that we don't use proxy settings for WebDAV support. I'll refresh the installer with this fix over the weekend.
